Guest guest
I'm still wondering what the acceptable temperature range is for fermenting yogurt using the Yogourmet yogurt starter. I know optimal is 100-110, but is 115 safe? 117? 112? Thanks, Debora
Guest guest
I have this question about the acceptable temperature range too, because the European yogurt maker I ordered from Digestive Wellness makes the yogurt at 115. I plunged the thermometer into the yogurt at 26 hours, and it was 115 or a tiny bit over. Is this too high? If so, what do I do with this new yogurt maker I bought? Also, what about the batch I made in the oven? I think this may have been a little lower than 100. Is there any harm in it being a bit lower at times in its 24 hours? Thanks, Debora Wade wrote: I'm still wondering what the acceptable temperature range is for fermenting yogurt using the Yogourmet yogurt starter. I know optimal is 100-110, but is 115 safe? 117? 112? I'd contact the company (DW and/or Lyosan). << Also, what about the batch I made in the oven? I think this may have been a little lower than 100.
