Guest guest
Mark, Thank you for sharing the email from Dr. Hayden. He is such a nice person, so friendly...and intelligent. I have spoken to him several times. He is very interested in helping others and although he studies diabetes, he always keeps pancreatitis in mind. He said he would be interested in speaking at the symposium and would only require travel and lodging expenses covered. He lives in St. Louise, Missouri and the Symposium is in Indianapolis, Indiana. One reason I was interested in his attending the Symposium is that he has a lot of information regarding alternative medicine. His research focuses a lot on the lack of natural vitamin and mineral biochemical interactions, such as folic acid deficiency and antioxidants. Karyn E. , RN, Exec. Guest guest
Mark, You wrote, " So is he going to attend the symposium? " I am still uncertain as to the agenda / speakers. Due to financial constraints, we try to use local speakers, with the exception of the 'keynote speaker,' which generally is a Pancreatologist. I think since diabetes is something almost all of us will deal with, and if we do not have it, we all are dealing with prevention of diabetes. So, this may be a good choice. The symposium will be videotaped, as many are unable to come, therefore, persons who are interested in viewing the tapes, also have valid input. The other option re: a session focused on herbs, vitamins, etc. is an RN Holistic Healthcare Practitioner in Private Practice (in Indy). Her lecture would most likely be less scientific and more easily understood by the lay person, but would also probably be more generic, Vs Hayden's who is focused on actual current research. I'll keep you posted. Karyn E. , RN, Exec.
