Guest guest
Thanks Karyn for your comments to: sorry, (I don't remember who) re Oxycotin & Percocet. As I have severe disc pain/nerve endings & pressure on bowel & bladder from my bulging last disc, my pain meds have to work on two types of pain. I was on 40mg. of Oxycotin & then I started having swollen ankles & legs & my rheumy said he thought it was from the Oxycotin, and so I dropped to 20 mg. of Oxycotin in am & then cause I like to know what my spine is doing I take it not 2x daily, but I would switch to Percocet in the evening. I suggested to my internist that I try straight Oxy Ir with no Tylenol 3x daily, but since I have been on it (only 15 mg.) well.....if ain't cutting the mustard nearly as well. It also seems to make me nervous like butterflies in my stomach & does Zilch for the back pain. So today I am back to the Oxycotin & when my doctor gives me back the Percocet (that I had to trade in cause I was trying the Oxy IR! I guess what I'm trying to stress here is that pain meds work very differently on one person & on different types of pains. I have a friend that takes 80 mg. of Oxycotin for back pain that makes her sleppy & the 40 mg. of Oxycotin made me talk & act like I'm on speed (plus the swelling).....I have always had reactions to drugs & would like to try the Fentanyal patch, but don't want a drug that stays in the body all the time cause I would feel better & then I would do something that would injure my spine because I would not feel the pain! So it is a real trail & error process to find the right pain meds & then pray that u don't become immune to them too soon & need a stronger one! So thanks for your comments, cause I am going back to the tylenol & Oxycodone cause it is much better relief for my spine than the one without. It is indeed a challenge......thanks for listening, in ton
