Guest guest
Hi everyone! Just to say that I am still around and still intending to get back to being more active again on the board. Jim is home now and making very good progress in terms of recuperating from the 5-hour operation (radical prostatectomy) for his prostate cancer which was carried on Easter Saturday. The histology results showed that the cancer had not spread to the lymph nodes or seminal vesicles and was confined to the prostate. It was, however, more extensive within the prostate than was expected. We have to wait for further blood tests to see if further treatment will be needed at this stage. Naturally we hope not. This has been a most exhausting experience for both of us, in different ways. Jim has obviously borne the brunt but I also feel an emotional wreck just now. I have just gone back to school to-day having nursed him since he came out (two weeks ago tomorrow). You can imagine how busy I have been and why I have not visited the PAI site much over the last couple of weeks. BUT....I have no intention of going away! I will be back! Thankfully my pancreas hasn't been too bad during all this, despite some growling, but the emotional backlash of the experience is certainly making itself felt now. I keep wanting to cry. Thanks again for your messages of support. With love to all my friends. I wish pain-free time and only the best for all of you.
