LOL, It'll be lots smaller soon, as all of ours will be.. Worth, TX when he got a homerun ball at a Redhawks game. So we will be going on December 14. It'll be my first Amtrak trip, I've ridden trains in Japan but the butt was smaller back then. I've been on the, " Coast Starlight, " for several trips from Salem, OR, to Los Angeles, CA. The seats on Amtrak are wider than airplane seats, have more legroom available, and there are extending legrests as well as the seatbacks that recline. I found them very comfy and easy to stretch out and rest in. I don't remember the seatbelts being manditory like they are in planes. In fact, you are encouraged to move around onboard since there is a viewing car full of windows and a family activity car where movies are shown and games are available to play. Sometimes Amtrak even contracts for roaming entertainment onboard... I've seen artists doing charicatures, comedians, and magicians doing parlor tricks roaming the aisles in my trips. I hope that helps! I would love to pick you and your son up and take you to eat in the historical Fort Worth Stockyards area. I hope you have a layover of 2 to 3 hours so we can do that.
