Hi Mark,

I just had to write to update you on my friend's case. As I told you

before he does not have the normal pancreatitis. His pancreatitis is

secondary to a condition he has had since childhood called

Hypercalcemia; elevated levels of calcium in the blood. This

condition can cause pancreatitis. This condition can have one of

several causes. In my friend's case, it is caused by

hyperparathyroidism which over produces parathyroid hormone which in

turn overproduces calcium.

When I received your email on Sodium Thiosulfate, I zipped off an

email to Dr. Hayden. I found out that Sodium Thiosulfate is in it's

experimental stage. He doubted that my friend could find a doctor who

would be willing to administer the antioxidant interveniously. After

relating my friend's health problem, Dr. Hayden suggested that he

might use a newly approved drug called Sensipar which acts to control

calcium levels by lowering the parathyroid hormone production.

Anyway, I wanted you to know the exciting news...I've written to Dr.

Vitone at U of Liverpool and sent him a link about Dr. Hayden's paper.

Hopefully, he will contact Dr. Hayden to discuss findings.

I am so excited and for the first time I realize there may be hope for

pancreatitis sufferers. I can't wait to read Dr. Hayden's paper

relating to how he has utilized Sodium Thiosulfate and Sensipar in

regressing his wife's calcific deposits.

With love, hope and prayers...(That about says it all.)
