Our nutritionist suggested trying some ghee for my son to help him maintain his

weight. I bought some, now what? How does one eat ghee? Do you eat it warm or

cold? Do you cook with it? Do you mix it with something? Is it like a

condiment? I am totally lost.

Ghee is great for cooking and frying, because the milk solid are removed so you

can heat it higher without it smoking. It has a nice butter flavor, without the

milk solids. I imagine you could spread it like butter, but I've mainly used it

in recipes and for frying and sauteeing. Just use it like oil or butter. Hope

this helps.

I should have mentioned, ghee is also called " clarified butter. " It's made by

heating the butter and then skimming off the milk solids. Because it's

clarified, it will keep for a long time without going rancid, and it's good for

cooking of all kinds.
