Guest guest
Well, if the protein IS helping with the hair loss, then I'd probably be bald without it! Just don't want anyone to buy it for that reason and be disappointed--the protein powder isn't cheap! I'm not upset--really don't want to be bald, but I'd rather be bald than fat! Guest guest
Kathi, I'm still a licensed beautician here in Indiana, and I could check and see if I could get that stuff cheaper for anyone, but if it don't work anyway... well I guess I won't bother.. You guys are really upsetting about all the hair loss. I know someone that had this type of surgery over 15 yrs ago, that said doesn't last, protein helps, and her hair is now thicker than it was before.. I guess like Zoey says, you can always wear a wig for a while with your size 10's.. Thank God, wigs are back in style.. haha Trudy Hair Loss Hi everyone. Been reading the posts about hair loss and what you can do--apparently nothing! I have been drinking protein shakes (2/day) faithfully. I bought a hairstylist recommended product called Nioxen (shampoo, conditioner, and some other stuff to put on and leave in) at a price of $40 for small bottles--supposedly recommended by the National Cancer Society and with a guarantee. Guess what--my hair is falling out! Pretty badly, too. I started with the protein and special hair products at about 2 months--well before the hair loss started. I am now 4 months postop (today as a matter of fact!) and my hair is coming out bad. So--don't waste your money on the hair stuff. As far as the protein--your body needs it, so it can't hurt! Guest guest
My mom took MSM for bone and joint support. She said, completely unexpectedly, her hair & nails started growing like crazy. When she stopped the MSM, the hair & nail growth stopped. This sort of makes sense because of the therapeutic mechanism, but I had never heard this claim. Guest guest
MSM is Methyl Sulfonyl Methane - the molecule is almost the same as DMSO & is also patented - is sold as a food supplement @ health food stores - is a supposedly optimal form of sulfur for absorption, most bioavailable - sulfur should be readily available though our diets, but if there are absorption problems, which may occur w/ age, ilness, or other situations (mgb???), we may not get enough - sulfur is among the top 10 elements of human body composition & supports lots of functions, but of interest here is probably the formation of COLLAGEN & KERATIN I'm not an MSM advocate, just passing on some info that you may want to further explore. MSM seemed to make my mother's hair grow, though that wasn't the reason she took it. There is a remote chance that if you have an allergy to other sulfur compounds (sulfates, sulfides, sulfonamides)you could have an allergic reaction to MSM ________________________________________________________________________________\ _____ Get more from the Web.
