Guest guest
Sperb, who is it that you want to hear from? I bet you wanted to send this out to a person specifically. But, as a member of the family, here's a smile and a hug from me. You sound a little down. I was too, for about a week. But feeling better now. Take good care of yourself, this is a big life change. Guest guest
Just wanted to check in with you since you were one of my contacts. I had the surgery on 11/9 and I'm back in town now. I had one real bad bout of pain (which I posted about) and then was okay after that. I seem to have shortchanged the 2 weeks on juice. I have been eating those soups that you pour a cup of boiling water into and also the same kind of thing with the mashed potatoes. I thought I would have no sweat doing just juices for a couple weeks because I went for 18 days on just lemon and water last year. (The things we do for love!!!) In any event I'm not sure what I weighed on my scale at the time of the surgery. I know my scale had me at 240. This morning I was 229. So I guess everything is pretty okay. I really wanted to touch base with you. An unexpected side effect of the surgery is that I feel very vulnerable and suddenly have a craving for contact with people I had not suspected I would ever have. I look forward to your feedback, Love, Sperb ( from CA)

Guest guest
Yep. I'm that Jude, Sperb. Your concern about 8 oz water, when was your surgery? And over what period of time do you drink this water? Liquids go out quickly, I think. What about food? How much of that at a time, if you're eating? You could ask Dr. R. With the other surgeries, RNY and such, they talk about stomach capacity, in ounces, but I've never heard Dr. R say any ounces. Anyone else hear anything about that? Guest guest
Howdy! And thanks for gettin back! I guess I can't tell whether I'm scared for no reason or not. I am having some soft foods because I'm so doggone hungry! Specifically I am eating those mashed potatoes that come in a cup and you put hot water on them. Same with noodles. Liquids I can just about guzzle. The food items I can eat if I don't rush. So I don't know what the scoop is. I though I would only be able to eat a couple tablespoons at a time and that just isn't the case at all! Forgive my negativity--I'm just scared. I keep thinking that I went to this extreme so I wouldn't have to rely on myself to diet--and I feel like I'm going to have to do that very thing! Oh, well. I guess time will tell. Any thoughts are appreciated--even just acknowledgment. Love, Sperb >>> Judyh1022@... 11/20/00 05:23AM >>> Yep. I'm that Jude, Sperb. Your concern about 8 oz water, when was your surgery? Guest guest
Zoey, Yup. No kidding. All that. So I guess I have to go back to the concept of restricting my food. Guest guest
I actually have had an extended correspondence with Dr.R over this matter and although he's very concerned, he does not seem concerned about the amount I can eat, but rather the amount of anxiety I have been feeling over it! LOL! And rightly so, since I was basically distraught with my incredible capacity. All I can say is he's not concerned about the amount at this point. As for me, I'm going to get onto the post-op group and see if there's anyone else who is as *talented* as I am!! LOL. Thanks for the thought--I'll let you know how things are going.
