Guest guest
Hi everyone, Im Lynne, a homeschooling mom of 6 kids ages l6 down to 5. My story is a bit complicated since it is not just me,but all the kids too. 4 years ago I found out I had Celiac and have been gluten free ever since. Once going gf I developed many autoimmune diseases, worsening allergies, enlarged liver/spleen,had gallbladder out, shrunk an inch from bones breaking apart at 38,now have calcifications throughout my body, skin sores terrible, multiple chemical sensitivity, severe allergic asthma, anaphlactic reactions to latex, shellfish, wheat, melons and even green peas. Ive had a few biospies since it seemed I had cancer on the pet scans but then neg once lymphnodes removed, though still huge. The kids were genetically tested and those who werent positive for celiac are allergic to it and related grains so they are also gluten free. They have various food, latex, and chemical sensitivities as well. My youngest stopped moving when I was pregnant and was born with floppiness, hypotonia, dysarthria(mouth muscles didnt work)so she couldnt nurse and went from 8 1/2 lbs down to 5. She only used one side of her body, legs stuck up in the air, would get really rigid, had seizures, stopped vocalizing for l0 days after an immunization(we've withheld them since)shes also got lots of allergies and has been on a gluten and cassein free diet,no eggs, berries, citrus, beef, fish(all severe allergies)shes doing wonderfully now, running, jumping, still has some sensory issues but nothing like before. The children all have weak enamal where their teeth come in broken apart and they brush a lot, drink lots of water too,its from the celiac. Im wondering if any of this sounds familiar to anyone else. You dont outgrown cerebal palsy which is what our youngest was diagnosed with. There has to be some connection with the diet and me being so sick for so long not knowing I was slowly killing myself from within by eating whole wheat everything. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of BTVC. I wanted to connect with others and get support and prepared to do this right. What do you do when you have this many allergies? Will the book explain for people like me? My life has changed so much, I cant play with my kids anymore,go upstairs,we had to get rid of the carpet in our newly built home, then the furniture, finally the whole house. We are on 5 acres but Im still having a tough time breathing, its not airtight and with the fires the kids are coughing a lot. 4 of them were diagnosed with asthma in Dec. We are in central florida and looking to relocate this month to a more rural area. I look forward to hearing from others and hope I didnt scare anyone off with too much information. It would be great to find others similar and how they got better. Thank you all for listening. Lynne
Guest guest
Welcome to our group. I am a home schooling mom as well with baby number four on the way. I am amazed at all of the health issues that food has caused for your family. I wonder what other issues have caused these health problems though...immunizations, mold, chemicals, ect. Who knows. It's so difficult to figure everything out often times. I can tell you that Elaine says that you should never eat a food that you know you have an anaphalatic allergy to. I think that it would be the same with foods that you have a cross reaction to due to your latex allergy. I think that the book will be most helpful to you, but this group is an awesome resource for advice as well. Have you thoroughly read through the information on pecanbread.com and btvc.info? You live on 5 acres right now, but are looking to move to a rural area? What area are you looking at? Five acres is pretty rural. I think SCD will be good for your family.
