Guest guest
So, the yogourmet maker is out because it cooks at too high of a temp. The Euro one is out because it cooks too low. Is there such a thing as a yogurt maker that cooks at the proper temps? What do I do? Thank you!
Guest guest
My Euro yogurt maker cooks at 115 degrees after 26 hours, which is actually a little too high. I'm going to try putting a pencil under the lid to let some heat out, or putting a tea towel under the jars, or both. I think the Euro can be made to work. I don't think it's too low, at least I don't think that mine is. Thanks, mamanme2 wrote: So, the yogourmet maker is out because it cooks at too high of a temp. Guest guest
, If you have an oven, you can incubate the milk in the oven by just turning the light bulb on (you don't turn the oven itself on, as you would to bake etc.). I leave the door of the oven ajar by placing a folded towel in the opening between the door and the oven. I always get the right temperature for the entire 24 hours. Leave the thermometer inside the oven to help you monitor it constantly. Works like a charm each time Suneeti > >Reply-To: pecanbread >To: pecanbread >Subject: Yogurt Makers...so now what? >Date: Fri, 04 May 2007 20:03:47 -0000 > >So, the yogourmet maker is out because it cooks at too high of a >temp. Guest guest
After reading the post on how high of temp. the yogourmet was getting I started some yogurt saturday. Within about 10 hrs. the temp was getting way too high ..I added a bit of water to cool it, I incubated it with the lid off for a while, but it was still getting too high. So I put it in the oven with a bulb(I needed a 100 watt bulb) for the last 12 hours. I kept the temp between 102 and 108 degrees...I checked the temp ever hour and whenever it started getting near 110 i put a pen in the door to get the temp down a bit. I don't think the any yogourt maker will incubate the yogurt at the right temp (between 100 and 110 degrees) for the whole 24 hours.Mine doesn't work well. Just may opinion.
