Guest guest
Because our son's nutritionist feels that Jack needs a variety in the way of probiotics, we started Sacchromyces Boulardii 3 days ago. He has been SCD since 7/06, and we've seen some progress since that time, although he continues to be very stimmy. We've always given him the lactobaccilus acidolpholis, but since starting the Sacchromyces Boulardii (SCD legal according to Kirkman Lab), he seems extra stimmy, particularly at bedtime, and, he has developed diaherra. His stools have been fine up to now. Could this be die-off? Mom to Jack, 5 years, ASD, 9.5 mos SCD

Guest guest
How long did it last, and how long did you use it? Guest guest
we have been using it off and on for a year....we were giving up to six per day, along with culturelle, in order to control clostridia. What is REALLY working for my son, now, is giving him the fermented cabbage juice 3 times daily, about a cup each time. I also am giving six boullardii and 4 acidophilus a day, and nystatin, 2 times daily.....I try to keep him off of acidic foods, also. The fermented vegetables EVERYONE should try....I give my son the fermented cabbage juice with his probiotics, and I think it is working wonders! just slowly increase the boullardii.... > > > > > > Because our son's nutritionist feels that Jack needs a variety > in > > the > > > way of probiotics, we started Sacchromyces Boulardii 3 days > ago. > > He > > > has been SCD since 7/06, and we've seen some progress since > that > > time, > > > although he continues to be very stimmy. Guest guest
Can I give my son S. Boulardii if he has a genuine allergy to yeast? I understand it is a good type of non-colonizing yeast that fights bad yeast. However, I'm concerned because my son has had a food allergy test which indicated a moderate-severe allergy to yeast. He has severe Clostridial overgrowth and we need to address it more aggressively than with the probiotic and Nystatin we're giving him. Any help or ideas would be appreciated! Guest guest
Hi , When I started S. boulardii I started with 1/2 capsule/day. You can try even smaller amounts and/or epsom salt baths and/or activated charcoal to help alleviate some die off.
