I let it ferment for 32 hours (I was at work when it would have hit 24 exactly, so I couldn't pu tit into the refrigerator until I got home). Is it supposed to be this bitter? Guest guest
It wasn't goat milk. It was Organic Valley 2%. > > > > and it is sooo bitter!! Guest guest
Hmmm. Are you sure " bitter " is the best description? Yogurt is pretty tart, especially if you didn't eat it before starting SCD and are just getting used to the taste. If you drip it, that will help. My Yogurment came with a cloth bag for dripping the yogurt. I also own a metal strainer for making 'yogurt cheese'. Here is a link to the product: http://www.digestivewellness.com/itempage-1048-24-13-1584.html Good luck figuring it out. I'm sure someone else here will chime in. Guest guest
Maybe the yogurt didn't ferment right, or the starter was not lively, or the temp wrong. I find that pasteurized milk, when it goes bad, becomes bitter. I wouldn't eat it if it tastes bitter. It should be tart but nice. jessicaclarkasd <no_reply > wrote: i dont know..let it sit in the refriderater over night and try it again...did you try it when it wasn't completely cold? > > > > > > and it is sooo bitter!! Guest guest
I think you're right - the yogurt is tart, but I think it's because I haven't had plain yogurt in a while. I've been eating it the past few days & I'm really liking it! > > Hmmm. Are you sure " bitter " is the best description?
