Betty:

You are about to get an incredibly valuable medical opinion from a

professional source: a doctor's wife! It's your lucky day!!!

So now that you know up front what a GREAT gift you're about to receive, let

me suggest this:

I would imagine that you have a somewhat longer time for your body to

recuperate from surgery than many of the rest of us. You had complications,

had to stay in the hospital two weeks, and I bet your body is hanging on to

every calorie and ounce of fluid for dear life! I bet that plateau will be

over in another week or so. But goodness knows, I can fully share your

frustration! I plateau every month, then I have my period, then I lose some

more weight!!!

The energy thing...hmmmm....have you asked Dr. R.? I know some other postops

have added B complex vitamins and something called ZMA Fuel by TwinLabs

(available at GNC stores, I think).

While I applaud those postops who bounced out of bed the next day following

surgery, I was not one of them, and it took me a good two months to get my

energy fully back in place. I still have the odd day here and there where I

just need to collapse, but that's probably from doing so much more than I

ever used to do.

Don't compare yourself to anybody else on this list. Just listen to yourself

and your body, and do what's right for Betty. If you need more food, eat it!

If you need more rest, take it.

Betty, I can say one thing for certain: you are ABSOLUTELY worth it! You're

the best!

Love,

Blair
