Guest guest
Thanks Heidi,I did see the doc today and he wanted me to have another ERCP but the last one I had I was in incredible pain for days after even tho they kept giving me morphine shots. I'm so afraid. He says I need a stent put in. The conversation ended with us deciding to wait and see if the pain does not subside in a few days but if it continues that I have to be on pain meds constantly then I have to have it done. Well, the last few days it has been off and on and not constant like last week so maybe that's a good sign. He did say not to be without pain meds at any time so I'm glad he's good about that. I see that some others are not. How horrible. I felt sad about your lost Belize trip but at least you did have a chance to go at another time. Angie, I don't know that song but I sure do like the words. Thanks so much for your encouragement!! you mentioned taking codeine. My doc says that is a bad drug to use as it can cause more problems? Has anyone else heard that? He always tells me that morphine is the best choice for this kind of pain. So glad that you all here for each other. It's great to know there is a place to go where others understand!! Love to all!!
Guest guest
Tum, I feel the way your doctor does about Morphine being the choice for this type of pain relief or control. I have never had a bad problem with it and it is the only thing that does take the pain away or make the pain completely bearable while in the hospital. Some people don't like it. I have read that it can cause spasms but I haven't had that problem. But everyone is different. I hope your pain continues to get less and less with each passing day. I completely understand how you feel about another ERCp and stent and what happens after the surgery. Hang in there. :-) Sandy in Ca Tum wrote: > He always tells me that morphine is the best choice for this kind of pain. > > > > > >
Guest guest
In between my post and yours I was just reading about the connection between morphine and spasms so I'm glad to hear that you never had a problem either. I've also never noticed that codeine causes a problem either but then I don't want to take the chance either. We can buy it otc here and I have used it in the past but am afraid to do it anymore. I don't like morphine cos it makes me feel sick and I can't work taking it, but what else is there? ------------------------- I have read that it can cause spasms but I haven't had that problem. >
