Guest guest
, call Dr. R. With me, the fix was a hormone patch. But it depends on just how your nausea presents itself and how you describe it. As well as your age, etc. But call him. You do not need that! Guest guest
: The patch made me nauseous so you could try removing it. That was my experience. Once I took it off I was fine. On my flight home I started getting nauseous and took a Phenergran and I was fine. Christy / CA MGB 11-8-

Guest guest
You need to contact Dr. Rutledge . I had reflux for the first few weeks. Then it went away. He had me double my Prevacid. Everything I ate or drank hurt. Gradually that went away. Then the nausea set in. I'm on a hormone patch and have been for quite a while. Both of these steps caused drastic improvements. Guest guest
Sorry you are having a rough time. I have had 2 major surgerys and I think the anesthesia has something to do with it. I am tired for a long time and also have mood swings. I understand it can take weeks for it to totally get out of you system. It caused me to be depressed also AND I was taking Prozac at the time!! Keep your chin up....it will pass. Joni " Sleepless in Seattle "
Guest guest
Truth? I never told him. (hope he's not reading this). A friend of mine whose son is a doctor said it would be okay to just quit... I'm feeling fine! Guest guest
: Try some crackers. Try some yogurt, the kind you can drink too. Maybe some soup with a little substance to the broth minus any pieces. Try some cottage cheese or applesauce. You may need a little substance in your tummy. When I started my hormons again I took them in pill form and they made me very sick to my stomach. So if you find it continues, ask your doc for a patch instead of a pill. I have Combipatch and I have no more nausea. I'm sorry you're having such a rough time. I had no energy either. Felt really ragged out for quite a while. I wanted to be like the others that posted but I didn't have the energy to be like that. I took naps though! Here's a hug . I think you need one. It will get better..try a few things and see how they go. Guest guest
I called Dr. R. today to tell him of the nausea I was feeling in the morning when I get up. Jude told me if it felt like morning sickness to call the doctor and that he would probably prescribe an estrogen patch. He did. Let you know tomorrow how I feel!! Ps. Dr. R was shopping with his son when I paged him.. he was so kind and attentive and I couldn't believe it.. Most doctors hate it when you BUG them. He sure is the greatest!! Guest guest
, Even though I have been feeling much better since surgery without so much pain.. I don't really have that much energy either. I may go shopping at Walmart, but I'm not ready to do a mall, yet. I just started taking 3 vitamins a day, hope that helps. And I've just started adding some more solid foods to my diet. Hope you have better luck! Trudy Re: Nausea Thanks everyone!!! I just finished an episode of dry heaves again. I feel awful!!! I did E-mail Dr R and got an answer almost immediately. He suggested that I start my Premarin again. I had been off of it since surgery. Guest guest
Probably everyone already answered this, but if not, have you looked into the Estrogen patch? Apparently this has been the " big answer " for this problem. Send a mail to Dr.R. He has been teriffic in getting back. And he's really sweet. Guest guest
, You just had it done, hang in there...as for being tired of soups, jello, ect..after 5 days I was still on liquids..V-8 juice, tomato juice and apple juice and glad to get it...hang in there with the liquids for a while longer...being tired is normal for a while..do what people are saying and listen to your body...time will go by fast..I really begin to feel like a normal person at 2 months post op, only had a little nausea..It will go away...listen to what the Dr. R says, and go back and read the manual...I slept with my manual for months pior to and after...lol...You are gonna do fine.. Guest guest
, Please give yourself a little time to heal and begin to make this huge adjustment. Be kind to yourself. Everyone recovers at their own pace. Many of us took some time, me for instance. Regarding the liquids, that is one of the most difficult early challenges. Do the best you can. Until that juncture, where the intestines and new tummy meet, is entirely healed (14 days), nothing can go in that tummy that might cause a leak. Leaks can kill you, simply put. My theory was, nothing with corners, ridges or edges. But, I did have a protein shake or two. ( AND, I suffered for doing that with lots of gas and lots of diarrhea. ) Pre-op, everyone thinks, I can do liquid for 2 weeks, no sweat! Post-op, everyone thinks, What? Another day of liquids? I've already done 3! Your Premarin should take care of the nausea. And sleep, as much as you need of it, will take care of the fatigue! I took a nap every day post-op for 12 days. I am now 18 days post, and for the first time I am beginning to feel as though my new Tummy and I are going to be friends. I woke up this morning and felt like the old me, almost. Then I got on the scale. Down 20 pounds! That's even better than the old me!!! This will all work out, . Just give it a minute. Do you think fat people are missing the patience gene??? Sheesh! We are the most: I want it and I want it right this second! type of folks I've ever had the pleasure of knowing! Guest guest
Hi , I had surgery 11/17. Although I haven't had any vomiting, I do feel a little queasy several times throughout the day. I've started eating a saltine (well, sucking on a tiny bite at a time until it's mush, then swallowing) before each " meal " , and that seems to help a little. Maybe that approach might help you. Good luck, Kate >, >Even though I have been feeling much better since surgery without so much >pain.. I don't really have that much energy either.
