Guest guest
Awww thanx, Carla. And again, no problem, any time I can help! Trudy Re: News from Durham Anesthesia Hi Trudy Thanks for the advice and the number. I intend to fight this little snag, since they are in my network and they are under contract with the insurance company not to do this little trick with the insurance company. Hope you are doing well since your surgery and I do always enjoy your posts! Take care and thanks so much Carla Medlin MGB 12-15-

Guest guest
Margaret, I am going to on Dec. 21st. I also received a call from anesthesia. The $910.00 deposit is also required there. I am a self pay, but from what I understand the $910. is payment in full unless complications occur. If there is any refund, they will send it back to you. I hear it takes a long time to get your refund. I'm sure their faster if they need to charge you more :>) They do take credit cards if that helps! Good luck, in Michigan

Guest guest
Margaret, I am having surgery at on Nov. 30. I had to have $910 for Durham Anesthia. I am a self pay though. Would it be possible for you to get a personal loan through your local bank? That is acutally how I am funding my whole surgery. I was denied by my insurance so we decided to re-finance our house. Bonded by our experience, strength and hope Rhonda Margaret Bell 11/21/2000 10:06 AM Please respond to MiniGastricBypass (AT) egroups (DOT) com To: MiniGastricBypass (AT) egroups (DOT) com cc: Subject: Re: News from Durham Anesthesia : I am going to check into going to the Center. Would they ask for the same " deposit " ? Doesn't sound like a " deposit " to me - sounds like payment in full and then get re-imbursed by insurance. I am pre-certified by Aetna for 90% coverage. Don't know how I can come up with $910 in 3 weeks. Don't know if Aetna will cover the Center. I have a call into my 401K plan at work to see about borrowing. Anybody have any suggestions? Guest guest
Rhonda- I am borrowing from my 401K at work. At least when I repay the loan the interest will be paid to me! Hopefully it will be paid back within a few months . " Nothing is gonna stop me now! " I just think they handled this whole issue poorly. IMHO they should have announced it to everyone and had a starting date of at least Jan 1st to give everyone fair warning instead of springing this on us with only 2 or 3 weeks to get the money together. Very unprofessional. You don't see Dr. Rutledge acting like that. When he makes changes he gives fair warning. Guest guest
Hi Jude It is discrimination. They are doing this to no one else but Dr. R's patients. They told me that themselves when I have talked to them over the past couple of days. You bet I am stressing, and I am sure that you did too before your surgery, and this is totally ridiculous. These people, bottom line makes tons of money, otherwise they wouldnt be in the business. And I am sure its more than just Dr. R's patients that have left them holding the bag, I am sure they have been left holding the bag by other patients for many other procedures. They arent all here out of the kindness of their big hearts to help. That is for sure. Respectfully yours Carla
