Guest guest
hi,my son hudhayfa 31/2 has been scd for about 3 weeks now, but i cant seem to find a suitable probiotic.im in manchester england and would much appreciate any members from the u.k to respond and tell me where they get their probiotics from.are there any health shops or chemists where probiotics can be purchased or do they have to be ordered online? i would be very gratefull for any feedback as im quite desparate now because i cant seem to find a scd legal probiotic and ordering from abroad seems daunting and risky(would the probiotic reach me in optimal condition due to lack of refrigeration?) Guest guest
Our DAN physician, Dr. O'Hara, will be in Manchester this fall to train physicians in the DAN protocall, and to do some initial patient consultations as well, I believe. Perhaps you can email her to ask if she can tell you of an SCD supporting physician in your area. I would think that physician could tell you where you might find some SCD legal probiotics without ordering internationally. Her web site is drohara.com, and I'm sure it has an email address on it as well. Guest guest
--- I got the info from a U.K. Yahoo SCD site called SCDUK. Under the messages, it has a place to search and I typed in probiotics. There was a few to choose from, and they were from UK. Hope this is useful to you, and good luck. Guest guest
Hi ummrumaisa, << thanks glynis, i just checked the website and it said the kirkman > labs acidophlus may contain trace of casein. because hudhayfa is asd > im doing a dairy free version of scd. also its a multistrain > probiotic, i was under the impression that a single strain probiotic > was recommended.if you know of other list members using this > particular one then im willing to give it a go.>> You are correct, this is not the legal Kirkman's acidophilus There is a legal acidophilus mentioned in this link called Calcidophilus: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/pecanbread/message/65922 This is the single strain Kirkman's acidophilus that is legal http://www.kirkmanlabs.com/products/probiotics/acidophilus/Lacto_Acid316 _120.html If you talk to the company Glynis mentioned they may bring in the legal version since they are getting stock from Kirkmans' already. Guest guest
Hi again ummrumaisa, I rechecked their site and www.nutricentre.com in the UK " does " carry the correct kirkman's acidophilus. (it actually carries a few different ones;) Here is the link for the legal Kirkmans's acidophilus taht they carry: http://www.nutricentre.com/pages/productinfo.aspx?
