Guest guest
I was wondering if anybody here knows anything or has had any experiences with Alloderm grafts. I know that is is cadeverous tissue thatis very often used for severe burns. I have not found any information on using it for other repairs. I am going to have that to repair the hernia and reconnect the torn tissues along with a muscle flap. I am getting really worried about this procdure. I know I am being kind of silly considering all the surgeries I have had this is small potatos. However, I am scared to death. I know its probably just nerves, but I cry every thim I think about it. I know how painful recovering from surgery is and maybe that is why I am so shaken by this turn of events. But I just have a really bad feeling. It just seems like every surgery I have ever had all had some kind of complication. Thats how I got this stupid hernia. It has gotten so much larger and really hurts so I know I need to have it repaired before it gets any worse. Well I was just curious to hear what ya'll might know about this form of skin grafting. Maybe knowing more about it will ease my anxieties. I hope everybody is doing well Warmly,
Guest guest
, A woman in my Desmoid Tumour Support group had Alloderm instead of mesh to replace the muscle loss after a surgery similar to mine. She is doing great with this stuff. She says that after a certain amount of time, Alloderm will take on your own DNA and one won't be able to tell the difference between your tissue and that of the cadaver. If you would like me to, I can write to her via the group and ask if she could email you or vice versa to answer your questions you have? Her name is P.. Guess I'll just have to take extra special care of you over the weekend, and make sure you enjoy yourself....and I think I shall make sure I am down your way when you have the surgery. And look after you when you get back if you need it. ...
Guest guest
CAth, I would very much like to know what it was like after the grafting. Did it swell or hurt, any ill affects could she feel it under her skin; risks of rejections and the like. I am really nervous about this surgery, not sure why. You would think I would be looking forward to it, this stupid thing is bothering me so much. Nerves I guess. that is so sweet of you to offer to come down to see me through. Alison will be finished with school by that time, so she will be able to help with stuff. Besides you spend too much time down here in the low country you will loose your lovely Aussie accent and start talking geetchey like the rest of us...LOL. I do have a tendancy to get a little over enthusiastic, so you may have to rien me in a little, for my own protection, this weekend *S*. > > , > > A woman in my Desmoid Tumour Support group had Alloderm instead of > mesh to replace the muscle loss after a surgery similar to mine.
