Guest guest
mary, i just started doing it and this is my very basic understanding of it. NAET is an allergy treatment program that combines a bunch of alternative healing methods like kinesiology and acupuncture. the doctor tests the strength of your muscles in response to holding an allergen in your hand, and therefore in your energy field. if your muscle is weak, it means the energy is blocked and your body is not processing this allergen correctly. the doctor then stimulates your spine in a specific way which re-programs your nervous system to be able to process this allergen. supposedly, even if the allergen is something bad, like mercury, your body will just no longer " freak out " when confronted with the allergen. instead it is able to respond calmly to process the allergen. then you are told to avoid the allergen for 25 hours. after that you are re-tested to make sure it worked. 80-90% of the time, the allergen is cleared in one session. actually, our doctor checks it right after he cleared it and so far for us, the muscle does resist the second time around when it was totally weak the first time. my daughter and i have cleared about 8 allergens each so far. the first ones they clear are the basics like minerals, salt, vitamins A, B complex, C. i didn't notice any difference with these first ones. however, after we began clearing the foods, my daughter's eczema totally disappeared, and she is pretty much symptom free. now that i know which foods she is not tolerating, it's very easy to avoid them. for example, we were eating strawberries and mango and i didn't see a big eczema/itching reaction, but once i learned she was allergic and i stopped them, this is when the eczema cleared. for me, i've found i'm allergic to many many things, like salt, baking soda, citrus, garlic, and BEEF! all of these things i was eating freely on SCD and doing pretty good overall but now i can feel that even more healing is happening as i am avoiding and getting cleared for these very common foods. my daughter's eczema is cleared now but i want to keep going until all the allergens are cleared, so that i know she is absorbing all the nutrition she can from the foods she eats. we are still very early in the process. i plan to continue as much as $ will allow. it is incredibly expensive, because you have to go so many times. my doctor only clears 2 allergens at a time. and we have not even begun with the chemicals, environmental pollutants, etc.. they even test for things like heat, wind. oddly, i have always felt horrible after being in the sun, so i am going to ask about clearing that one. at first i thought i might be able to go off SCD since NAET was working so well, but what it's really done for me is accelerate the investigative process. instead of trying one new food each week and all the confusion about interpreting reactions, i now feel like i know which are the actual culprits. there are some foods that the doctor has cleared for us that we will still not be eating anytime soon, because our stomachs are still not ready for them. for example, corn and sugar. so, i think it works very well in conjunction with SCD. hope this makes sense. i'm talking to my 2 year old at the same time as typing this : ) silvia SCD 4 months, eczema, yeast, food intolerance > I don't know much about it, but you can google it. Guest guest
We too are doing NAET with our son in conjunction with SCD - We cleared the basics 1.5 yrs ago but did not change our diet - guess what? The leaky gut just allowed the allergies to redevelop - or the clearings to not stick. (we stopped NAET when my father passed away & the grieving process took me a long time) We started SCD in January and started back with NAET late March. We didn't really plan to restart NAET when we started SCD but just came back to it. Our thought for doing NAET was that it would help heal the gut if we could eliminate allergies. Our main goal is to not be allergic to nutritious foods - to be able to eat nutritious foods with optimal digestion & absorption of nutrients. I also want to be able to sit down to a meal in a restaurant or a family member's / friend's home and not have to worry about every speck of gluten or soy - or SCD illegal item in the future. Our hope is that when the gut is healed he can have " illegals " once in a while - he will be 13 on June 23rd and will want to do things with his friends. I know what you mean about the $$ - we are only doing NAET with our son. So far the biggest difference that I've noticed is that his eyes are no longer blood shot by mid-afternoon. Guest guest
Thank you Silvia! It sounds great. I just assumed that SCD took care of all the food allergies. I have been phasing things in one at a time and found a few things in phase 1 and 2 that I can not have, like tomatoes and carrots. I have eczema too, and it had cleared up until spring hit. Now I have rashes again but it is from the pollen and mold around here (NC) I think. Would NAET help with those things too? Thanks, -- Re: almond butter/ NAET mary, i just started doing it and this is my very basic understanding of it.
