My apt is on June 10 thats the big day. It is coming so fast and i have debated back and forth over this decsion. I still have some doughts deep inside or maybe it's just fear but I was hoping to get some words of encouragement. Right now I am in my 3rd years of college struggling right now to get these finals done. So this has added another stresser on my shoulders. Thanks so much for listening to me. Guest guest
Hi , I see you are up late worrying about your decision and just wanted to say hello. My son has CP and we are anticipating the same thing. He was supposed to be evaluated in late April, but he developed mono and we can't do anything until his spleen returns to normal - which can take 10-12 weeks according to his doctors. He is being treated at U of M and is not making much progress. He has been able to decrease his pain meds, but he still can't do any physical work and tires rapidly. It is hard to decide if it is the pancreatitis or the mono. We'll see soon enough. I think if decides the procedure TP-ICT is the way he should go, I will be 100% satisfied that he is doing the best possible thing to carry on his life and enjoy his family and the things he loves. I would not want him to suffer for twenty more years before he decided to do something definitive. I will keep you in my prayers and hope to hear your joyous shouts that you are pain free soon. --- > > > __________________________________________________ >
Guest guest
, I applaud you on your decision and I am glad you have that option to get relief. I have not had any surgery on my pancreas yet. Mine is the day before yours but I am just having a sphincterplasty, so I can't offer much advice. I just wanted to let you know I will be praying for you and hoping all will go well! Guest guest
, I know how difficult a decision major surgery can be to make. It affects so many areas of a person's life, not to mention the other members of the family it impacts on. I haven't had this surgery, so I can't help you very much with information about it, but Chrissy had it done last November and she as well as the others who have had it done would be better qualified to answer any concerns you have about the actual surgery. If you wish to voice your thoughts and/or questions you still have, please do and we shall try to answer them, or allay some fears as best we can..remembering that any advice or information we give is from a personal and experienced viewpoint, not medical..
