Guest guest
Most autism folks know darn right and well why they are giving CLO I assure you. Mercury toxic kids often have A and D supplementation needs. Dr. Megson has studied the CLO thing thoroughly. Still, you just don't give CLO. You do the labs to see where the deficiemcies lie. My daughter, not autistic, not apraxic, but likely celiac, is deficient. I'd be a fool not to give her CLO for now. You can supplement other forms of A but there are concerns about that. I think The China Study covers that. It is not good enough for me to supplement her with CLO. She must get sunlight. Also, we must address zinc. In my son, not quite apraxic and not quite autistic but something is up, I took the middle road last summer and at times gave CLO and others gave fish oil, primarlily childrens doses but sometimes the formula most use here. The best results I saw then were on the NN childrens 369. After a while I saw nothing new. I decided either the stores were full, I was using the wrong formula or needed more E. In the fall I saw great gains with a vegan DHA (the best we have seen yet)from Dr. Furhman with and without E. I have had limited success with Pharmax for him but better than NN for some reason. I also saw great gains with plain old flaxseed initially. I realize many do well with " the formula " but if you are not I think further investigation is warranted. > > You don't 'have' to know why your child needs fish oil to give them > fish oil.
