Guest guest
Hey Guys, I have Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NC and they told me that Dr. R and the Hosptial are " participants in my health plan " . They told me that a participating Dr. and hospital CANNOT require that YOU pay anything MORE than YOUR copayment. They said it is NOT legal. They said I am covered 100% for the surgery as long as I am inpatient. When I went to clinic on 31OCT and brought up the question, they said take it up with Dr. R. so I did, he was standing there... He said.... because the insurance companies tend to put things off like paying the drs... HE requires it... and IF I WANT TO HAVE THE SURGERY, THEN I WILL PAY IT AS there were plenty of others waiting to have the SURGERY who WOULD pay... so that was that.... Dr. R says that if the patients have an incentive for him to be paid, so they can get their refunds back, then it tends to make insurance companies listen better.... when the patient keeps on them about it... I had not heard of the anthesiologist deposit though. My surgery is Dec. 1. Joyce Re: News from Durham Anesthesia Hey Havent heard if we would be getting anyone else with our date. This other mess with Durham Anesthia will surely cut some people out, and who has an extra $2165 ( Clinic $255 + Surgery Deposit $1000. + Durham Anesthesia $910. ) that just happens to be laying around!!. I have a message to call them today, but since they are a preferred provider and are under contract with my insurance company ( Doctors Health Plan ) we are all going to have a talk today about this. I tell you one something, I would be willing to bet that Durham Anesthesia doesnt do this to any other patients except our group. Discrimination. Do you think they tell other patients this that need anesthesia?? Sorry, I had to vent. This is ridiculous.
