Guest guest
Hi, my name is Lana and I am from Fort Myers FL. I am a new kid on the block. I'm trying to get insurance approval but have been denied on the first go around. They say they won't do gastric by passes because it is only a dietary aide and so I'm going to appeal on reasons of my health. My own doctor is going to do a letter for me and so is Dr. R. office. Any advise would be appreciated. I am one that was always loving the outdoors and walks in the hills and parks but now can't walk from room to room. I weigh in at 306# and my knees are about gone. I really want this surgery but without insurance paying at least part of it, I can't afford it. So cross those fingers and toes and say a prayer that we make the appeal. Guest guest
Hi Lana, My name is Shelby and I live in Bradenton, 1 hour north of you. My first go round with the insurance company went flat. I did tell them however, I know that most insurance companies deny first time out. I know that when I resend the information plus a letter from an ORTHO DOC and my PCP, I will be accepted. It will have to wait though, till after the Holiday, due to time constraints and work. It didn't take me 2 months to get this big, so I have the patience and courage to continue at the pace I can, and I will win out!! Take care and Good Luck. Fondly, Shelby
