Guest guest
Satish, With pancreatitis eating definetly makes the pain worse. When having an attack it is best to stay on liquids for a while and get the pancreas settled down. Do you have any type of liquid meal replacements in India? We have them in the USA that are like milkshakes and such. Those are a life saver for me. Also broth and puddings and soft foods like potatoes are good. No fat though that makes things worse. She may find some relief if she watches what she eats. No fried foods or really spicy or greasy ,fatty things. It sounds like she has Chronic pancreatitis to me. I am no doctor so don't take my word as you would a doctor's. I am praying that she will be better. Try to get her to try some liquid meal replacements and broths and soups. That may help. I always have a hard time getting back to eating after I have surgery since I have chronic pancreatitis. Guest guest
Dear All, My mother is again in hospital due to severe pain on the left side in stomach. She was given one pain killer injection. This has become a routine since last few days. Earlier there was no such pain. But sice lat few days pain has increased. Can anybody tell me which type of problem is this? Is it due to operation? or due to pancreatitis? Now that she was operated almost more than 35 days back, we expect her to eat some food, preferably solid. But she is not cooperating. Infact she eats / drinks so less that she has lost almost 15 kgs. after operation. She has a fear in her mind that food intake leads to stomach pains. Is it true? If she keeps on loosing weight like this we are afraid how she will be able to sustain further. Again we dont know when these pains will stop. Can any of the group help me by sharing their experiences and giving me advise? Thanks. _-- Satish, India
