Guest guest
Esther...this story sounds exactly like mine and I mean exactly.. Do you have FAP or similar? I had all but 8 inches of my colon removed due to precancerous polyps, as I had inherited Familial Adenomatous Polyposis through my mothers side of the family. Then Just over 6 years ago I woke up to the most horrendous pain I could ever imagine. Over and over again I had attacks. I suggested to a couple of doctors that perhaps it was a polyp blocking my pancreatic duct, as polyps are known to grow in the duodenum and stomach as well as the colon. This got dismissed as no, not a chance, even though this same thing happened to my mother.. Finally, after 10 attacks or so, I found a GI who did an ERCP and wouldn't you believe it? I was actually right..a precancerous polyp was located at my papilla. I had a modified whipple to remove the polyp and lining of the duodenum, and then had further attacks 3 months after the surgery. These attacks were caused by scar tissue causing pressure on my duct. It took 2 years but a doctor finally managed to fix the scar tissue problem around my duct and I am now just left with billiary duct spasms which only last a few seconds and are rare thank goodness. If you wish to email me privately, you can do so... Regards, Ward / TN PAI Administration Support Group dceward@...
