I had my ERCP and other tests last Monday 25th. They cut both the

bile and pancreas ducts and stented the panc. duct. They put the

feeding tube in my nose to my duodem or small intestine. I am

tolerating the tube but the feeding are not beng toleratedd at the

level they would like. It took a week in the hospital to get to

50ml/hr. I am at 65 now. They took the stent out on Friday and

that didn't seem to upset things too bad but had to stay in the

hospital a few days extra. So far they have said nothing by mouth

for a month then they will reevaluate me.

For those of you that have had these tubes - How long does it take

to get used to them in your throat so you don't feel like you have

to swallow constantly? For some reason I feel better if I am laying

with my head elevated rather than sitting upright. It is like after

I am up awhile the tube tightens and is pulling down. Does that

sound right?

All meds are through the tube. They gave me one pill while in the

hospital and it got lodged betweent the tube and my throat I thought

I was going to die had panic attack and all! They have said I can

have losengers or hard candy if they are sugar free have any of you

trie that or is there another way to keep your mouth moistened?

The other thing is the indegestion is worse now than when I actually

ate of course I didn't eat much but I am very belchy. Is that

normal of from the increase in amount in my tummy or should I be

concerned?

Thanks
