Guest guest
I just started the diet Friday for 9 year old son. Took him to a Chiropractor today since I made the appointment weeks ago. He understands a little about SCD or says he does. He thinks B12 is only for energy and he thinks we would be wasting our time with it. Anyhow, I liked him and thought him very smart. This may sound terrible, but I am sick of paying drs. who seem to know less or the same as me. This guy is smart. Wants my son on his calcium, which that is fine. Wants him on RNA. It is derived from yeast. He says he has seen amazing things happen with it and he expects the same for my son. It's not legal though and yet I see people talking about it on this forum. Do I go ahead and try it? Meanwhile we are already seeing progress. I almost wish I hadn't gone today. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm just learning about the diet and you know way more than me. jo
Guest guest
jo, I am so glad that you are seeing progress with the diet! When treating autism, it is good to try one thing at a time so that you can see what works. During the first 2 months of the diet, you will see lots of ups and downs and that will make it hard to assess other treatments. I would hold off trying any new supplements for at least 2 months. Did the chiropractor test the calcium level of your son? Many children who have an overgrowth of gram negative bacteria have too much calcium in their body. A paper was written about that. If there is demand then I will post it. Mimi > I just started the diet Friday for 9 year old son.
