I am doing a detox, and have been doing some dumb things. :-) this takes the

cake --

Yesterday, I heated and cooled my milk for yogurt, added the culture and put it

in the refrig instead of putting it in the yogurt maker.!!!!

Can I still use it? Do I need to reheat the milk to 185? Add more yogurt

starter?

Duh, Thanks for your help.

If you have the milk sealed very well you can *chance* putting it in

the yogurt maker as is, taking into account the extra time needed to

bring it from refrigeration temperature to fermentation temperature

(100-110 °F)

To be on the safe side you could reheat it to *180°F* (don't bother

heating it to 185°F), cool and then add fresh starter. The texture may

be a little funny (or not) but should still make good yogurt.
