Hi all, I have been a silent reader and get much insight, as well

as hope from all you people. I have CP since 4/2001 and just

completed a 3 day stint in the hospital for pancreas rest. I had a

distal pancreatectomy and spleenectomy 1/99 and had over 1/2 my

pancreas removed. I had no pain or flareups until 3/2001. Since

then, it's been pain management, enzyme replacement and long term

disability. I am also 350 miles from my family and endure the

hospital visits,ER visits and general pain away from the one's I

love. I use Prozac and this helps with the depression tremendously.

I take MS Contin (120 mg's per day) and Oxycodone (80 mg's per day)

for breakthrough pain, as well as Insulin (Lantus, Novolog),

Protonix, Creon 10 and Avandia. I recently started using Phenergan

Supp for attacks as well as Oral Morphine. Since the supp and oral

solution, my hospital visits have gone way down. I use the Oral

Morph for pain relief only during exacerbations. I find that I get

pain relief this way even during really nauseous times, as I absorb

the Morph almost immeadiately, it really helped me out. My Dr is Dr

Hebert of Burlington, Vt. This man has helped me out so much,

I would recommend him highly. Thank you all again for the insight

and words of hope...Jim

Hi Jim and welcome

Would you like to submit your doctor's address and his specialty to

me? I shall then add the details to our database so others in or

around the area may benefit of his services should the need arise..

I am glad that your pain is being so well controlled now.

Regards,

Ward
