Guest guest
Thanks for all the answers to my question. I think I am figuring it out. I do not think it is my insurance company as the doctor seems to be able to prescribe how ever many she cares to a month (no monthly limit - that is I get 90pills a month). And I do not think it is that she wants to see me as even when I want to make an appointment with her, I can't get in. But that is a logical reason and one that I can live with . Talking to my husband who has the same DO to write scripts as I do, he said that he noticed the same thing...that his yearly scripts are now only for 6 months but this happens only when Walgreen's does the calling in. If he requests the scripts. he gets a whole years worth. So we are thinking that maybe this is a policy for Walgreens and not the clinic or doctor. I guess though it will always be in the back of my mind to ration the pills so that they can be stretched in case when I call in 6 months for a new refill, it is refused. I just hate this part of the illness....never knowing whether the doctor will write your script for you. It seems to be a harsh reality with pancreas problems because nausea and pain aren't going to kill you like high blood pressure or asthma so it is easy for the doctors to decide that it is too bothersome to write scripts once a year on a life-time basis. So I hoard...........and be miserable during the times that I feel I need to ration . I wish there was a contract that we could make our DOCTOR's sign to assure us that our medication will be available to us for as long as both patient and physician think that it is needed. Guest guest
Dear Laurie, Be careful of using Walgreens for your pharmacy. I use to go there and had many problems with them. They called DEA on me for all the heavy pain medications I'm on. Just a suggestion! Sincerely, Janet
