Guest guest
HI Kris, Thanks for your very interesting post. I am having some blood tests for autoimmune pancreatitis, as I understand it. I won't see the specialist for another two or three months to have the results explained. I have been away for a couple of days and haven't done a great deal of research. However, I have discovered that most docs think calcifications are rare with autoimmune pancreatitis and I definitely have extensive calcifications. None of these things are conclusive of course. We must definitely keep in touch and share any info we get. I must ask my docs about blood tests for coeliac. When I had my diagnosis in 1988, it was done by duodenal biopsy not a blood test. I don't think the blood test was used often then, if at all. Maybe my sons should have this test. If my mother was coeliac, it was certainly not mentioned but in the 1950's much less was known about coeliac disease than is known to-day; it could have been missed. Take care and I will get back in touch as soon as I know more. Fliss (UK)
