I have stopped using the yogurt machines because I tried it again and

the temp was about 130.

my question is: how much daily calcium powder would be appropriate

for a 3 year old child?

thank you.

Dear ,

I have been reading all the posts on the Vitamin K protocol site led

by Tamaro, an SCD parent from way back who is trying to do

even more to help her kids. From her research she theorizes that kids

on the autism spectrum have difficulty processing calcium. The goal

of her protocol is to help that issue. Anyway, her research tells her

that calcium from food is handled better by these kids than

supplemental calcium. If you start the calcium powder, you may see

some undesirable behavior. Here is one quote from that list:

The kids do need calcium, but they need it as part of

their

> food, so that absorption is slower and less efficient. Supplemental

> calcium, especially calcium citrate, is absorbed extremely

efficiently so it

> hits the bloodstream in a sudden dose that the body then has

to

> manage.

Even so, some parents on the Vitamin K list are giving supplemental

calcium, but they are cautioned to keep the dose low. I am sorry I do

not know the dose for your child's age, but since switching to

supplemental calcium might cause behavior issues, I thought you should

be aware of that possibility.

Thank you . I am just so frustrated with the yogurt machines I

have. I think I'll try to use the crockpot next.

Best,
