Guest guest
Hi Fliss, I will also try to do some research on the auto-immune aspect of things. I find it VERY interesting because I have felt that the pancreatitis and celiac sort of " fed " off each other. Well, they both cause very similar problems including pain, bloating, gas, abdominal discomfort, diareah, malabsorption, etc. My (old) gastro doctor kept telling me that I had IBS and that everything else was just nothing to worry about. Of course I knew he was wrong, but thanks to his misdiagnoses, I suffered longer than necessary from the celiac. When Dr. Lehman found the celiac last year, my small intestine was completely flattened, (total villious atrophy). At my last visit with Dr. Lehman, he told me that my intestines looked about 55-75% healed. I felt that was very good news, but of course I would have loved to hear that they were completely healed. Hopefully someday soon. I hope you are feeling well lately. I have been extremely busy for the past month and I am looking forward to a nice summer break. We (me and my kids) are just finishing up with our schooling for the year. I also had 2 yardsales in the past month AND I got all of my yardwork done for most of the year! I can't believe that I had enough energy for all that!! But the exaustion is catching up with me and I have been extremely tired for the past few days. Luckily my panc pain has been pretty good too. Sorry, I just realized that I'm rambling on , so I will close with sending good thoughts your way, and I will let you know if I come across any interesting reading regarding CP and Celiac. Take care Kris in TN
