Guest guest
Hi Jim and all, I'm very interested to hear that your doctor thought that the increase in pain could mean you were nearing burn-out. During the period 1999 - 2002 I definitely experienced increased pain. I'm talking now about the horrible upper-abdominal pancreatic pain rather than the lower- abdominal pain I had with malabsorption and which didn't start until my 30's. The actual pancreatic pains go right back to my childhood but I was experiencing them for about a third of the time by 2002. Previously it had been rarer, growing in frequency from about 1996/7 onwards until it became really frequent and more severe by 2002. As a child I had just a couple of severe attacks in the course of a year. I wondered myself if that increase meant that I was nearing burn-out. As I said, it's not complete yet because I still have pain on some days and am still not diabetic. I sincerely hope your doctor is right and you soon have a cessation of pain. Good luck, Fliss (UK)
