Guest guest
Hey all, I spent three hours visiting with Chrissy in the hospital Tuesday afternoon. She was lucky enough to be on the tenth floor at MUSC hospital, the place I call the luxury suites, where each room is gigantic, (enough room for allll the relatives and friends to fit in)! The floors in some of the hallways are marble, with leather furnishings and plenty of windows. Chrissy looked good and was in excellent spirits. She had a hard night the first night after surgery, but seemed much better the next day. She was on a PCA with dilaudid when I arrived, but was starting to get headaches from it, so they switched her to fentanyl, every 4 hours, (I think), and that seemed to make her happy. She also had a lidocaine pouch that was inserted into her abdominal incision area, keeping that area numbed and apparently very comfortable. She was very pleased with the nurse who was on duty that afternoon, and was hoping that she would have her the rest of the week. I would think that nurses would be the most critical patients of their nursing care, and difficult to please, so if this one had Chrissy's approval, I imagine she must be really good! The doctors were talking about a 5 day stay, so Chrissy hopes to jump ship on Saturday. Her room # is 1060, and if anyone wishes to call there, she said it would be okay. The direct line to her room is . I'm sure she'd love to hear from you. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Guest guest
Update! I stopped to see Wednesday morning for about an hour, she was in good spirits. They removed the pouch from the incision and she had just eaten breakfast without to much trouble. It was kind of spooky for me because I spent a month or so in that room and another couple of months down that hallway. My wife enjoyed it because she got to ask a lot of question about the tp/ict. We found out that Dr. will be doing them very soon at MUSC. I thought that had mentioned getting out Monday but I may be mistaken, any she's ready! She was talking about working with on the tp/ict team. So she's ready to get back to work anyway. God bless her.
