Guest guest
Hi, I saw a surgeon on Wednesday and he confirmed that the only way to get rid of my pseudocysts is by having surgery. The procedure that he is going to do is one that will create a way for the pseudocysts to drain into my intestines, it is not a pestuew procedure it has this really long name that I can't remember. The Surgeon said that this surgery will not do anything to the pancreas, it will just create a means of drainage for the pseudocysts. THe surgery is going to be on June 7. -a
Guest guest
a, Could it be either a Roux en Y pancreatic cyst-jejunostomy or an endoscopic cystogastrostomy? These are two procedures that are often done. I'm sure that you'll be glad to be rid of the pseudocyst completely. What hospital is your procedure being done in? Closer to the hospital date, if you furnish the address, we could send you some cards With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Guest guest
Hi a, I saw my surgeon a week or so ago and he is going to do an operation on me to remove my pseudocyst. He will be removing 60% of my Pancreas, my Gallbladder and my Spleen. He feels that leaving 40% of my pancreas will give me enough so that I won't need insulin or enzymes. I'll be having my surgery on May 26th. Let me know how things are progressing with you. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Guest guest
Rhonda and a, Having removal of some part of pancreas will not give any problem if you have some part functioning well. I have had removal of 50% of my pancreas (dead tissue) and other are functioning well that's why i'm doing good with my blood sugar levels and digestions and i dont have pain anymore..I just avoid excessive dietary fats. I hope the same goes with you, too. Guest guest
Thanks Rhonda for your email, there are some other friends in this board who have undergone surgery for pseudocyst. Please check http://pancassociation.org/storieshome.html where you'll find the stories of most of the members that might be of some help to you. I've my story there too. Please know that the surgery i have had was not of pseudocyst, but the dead tissue of pancreas was removed on the course of gall-bladder surgery (my pancreatitis was because of gallstones).. I hope the members stories would help you further.
