Hi guys,

My name is Elaine and I'm getting " the packet " ready.

I already have a couple of patients contacts but I

would really appreciate a bunch more. I'm sure you all

remember what is needed but just in case you need a

reminder I would be happy to send you the list of

questions.

Thanks Doris for already volunteering. You're the

best! Sperb, thanks to you too, I'll look forward to

hearing from you.

I'm glad I could help, or hope I helped. I'm doing wonderful. No problems.

I am one of the slow losers, which is ok. I had my surgery on 4/10/00 at 218

pounds. I'm 5'5 " . I'm am at 153 right now. I just hope I will lose a

little bit more!! This is the best thing I have done!! No more medicines!!!

That in itself is worth it.

Thanks for asking.

Take care.

Tonni-- 65 pounds in just over 7 months? That's slow? Sounds pretty great to

me! I'm interested because I think I'm going to be a slow loser. I had my

surgery on 11/9 and weighed in at @ 236 according to my home scale. Now, 17

days later I weigh in at @ 226. So 10 pounds in that period of time has me a

little worried. I guess as long as it's going down. 5'5 and 153--you sound

like a pretty normal size. Sure, not skinny, but buying normal clothes.

Congrats!!!!

Love,

Sperb

10 pounds, that is good! It sounds like you might lose like I have, which is

ok, because not being 100 pounds overweight to start, I was afraid I would

lose to fast and to much. I figure an average of 10 pounds a month. Not

bad! I sure couldn't do it on my own.

Good luck,

Tonni

Dear Tarri,

I would really appreciate your help as a contact. I

have to be nosey and ask the required questions like

when did you have your surgery? How much did you weigh

then and now? How were Dr. R and his staff? Did you have

much pain? How long did it take to get back to work?

Would you do it again? I'm almost done the packet!!!

Whoopee!!!!!!!(LOL)

Thanks again,

Elaine

Dear Elaine,

I had my surgery on September 29, 2000. I am 5'11', preop weight 329 - BMI

45. Weight, as of yesterday, 279 !! Fifty pounds gone for good and I won't

even be 2 months post op until the day after tomorrow. I found Dr. R to be

a calming, compassionate physician. I wish I had his energy level. I am

thankful everyday that he does not treat obese patients in the same way

every other physician I had met prior to him did. His staff seemed harried

but polite. I had no real pain to speak of and took off a total of two

weeks (clinic, surgery, travel, everything.) I work 10 hour shifts and my

butt was dragging that first week back but I'm back in the groove now.

Congrats on nearly finishing your packet - that is the hardest part.

Let me know if you need to fill in any other blanks.

Dear Tarri,

Thanks so much for your help. I really appreciate it. I

should be able to start filling out my patient contact

form this evening. <<whew>>> one more thing done!

(LOL).I can hardly wait for the big day but I know it

will take a while to wade through formalities of the

office and the insurance company. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks again!
