Guest guest
Hi Chrissy, Pleased to hear that you're home, and that all went well. Make sure you put you feeet up, and get plenty of rest. It's good that your islets are fine. I am still the same, and wating for my barium on 23rd May, and back to Prof on 22 June. I have been refused funding for my insulin pump as the hospital doesn't currently have a specialist nurse with pump training. she left a few weeks back, but there are plans for someone else to do the course in the near future. In the meantime, the consultant is managing the pump programme perfectly well. He has appealed on my behalf, and i am awaiting the outcome. At work, i work on a children's medical ward (respiratory, dermatology, gastro and general paeds), but we are all being expected to rotate to the trauma ward for 2 weeks to cover long term sickness - and to be in-charge. I do not mind going to help, but none of us have sufficient experience to be in charge. I have contacted the nursing union, and am waiting for them to get back to me. Well, it's to work tonight - i am in the HDU. Take care. Be good and do as you're told!!! Sue
Guest guest
Well do you get to choose what flavor of Barium for the study? blecch they are all gross...LOL. I truly hope that this will finally give ya'll some answers to the problems you have had. I cant believe that you of all people got turned down. I will pray that the prof's influence will change their minds and you can have your pump soon. Wow those changes at the hospital sound a bit daunting and even being charge on a different unit. That just doesn't sound right. What is HDU anyway? Good luck with that, at the very least it should be intersting and a change of pace is always exciting. I feel horrible. This thing hurts so bad, worse then any of the others. The jp drains are so gross and one is putting out about 50ccs every 3 hours while the other does little. The one that does little looks like it may be getting infected. So I am standing on the side of caution and getting some ointment tomorrow. The last thing I need is an infection. I see the plastic surgeon on Wed and then my surgeon next wed. The surgery took 5 hours and they took a lot more muscle from the lateral obliques, both sides, then they had originally thought they needed. That is why it is hurting so much more. Anyway, I promise I will be a good girl and take it really easy. Considereing I can barely walk that should be easy...LOL. Take care and good luck with the job issues. Thats smart that your taking with the nurses alliance. You certainly dont need to be placed in ap osition that might risks your lisence. Speaking up is your best protection. Warmly,
