Guest guest
I suffer from fibromyalgia and sometimes have IBS. I read recently that SCD can be very helpful for fibro and have ordered the book. But we are vegetarian for religious reasons, and I wanted to ask if I could still do this program. Maybe since I'm not having severe intestinal problems (at least right now) perhaps I could try the more advanced foods which I understand includes beans and lentils? Has anyone here had fibro and did the diet help? I just want to feel healthy again. Thank you- Jennie
Guest guest
My older son did SCD with beans and lentils. However, he was healthy at that time. I would wait several months before introducing the lentils and beans. You may use eggs, cheese, yogurt during the first months. Mimi > I suffer from fibromyalgia and sometimes have IBS. Guest guest
Hi Jennie, << I suffer from fibromyalgia and sometimes have IBS. But we are vegetarian for religious reasons, and > I wanted to ask if I could still do this program.>> Yes, vegetarians have successfully done SCD. Please see http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/knowledge_base/kb/vegeterians_ considering_scd.htm << Maybe since I'm not having severe intestinal problems (at least right now) perhaps I could try the more advanced foods which I understand includes beans and lentils? >> It would be better to start with the intro for at least a day or two and then add gradually add foods to ensure you actually do tolerate them. Start with easy to digest and progress to harder to digest foods. << Has anyone here had fibro and did the diet help?>> I think the diet has helped some with fibro but it may be from reports on the LI list. I don't know if any pecanbreaders have fibro. Sheila, SCD Feb. 2001, UC 23 yrs mom of and
