Just got incedibly ill one night...thought it was an ulcer...waited about 16 hours, couldn't wait any longer, ended up in emergency...long story short (after convincing the doctor that I don't drink) my blood work finally came back with super high lipase,etc... " raging pancreatitis " . I didn't even know what a pancreas was. I have had a sphincherotemy, numerous ERCP's, Gall bladder removal (my gall bladder was fine), and since 1999 I have been hospitalized I think 6 times with pancreatitis. I have a really high pain tolerance, and maybe that can get me into trouble sometimes...the ER doctor said it threw him...this disease scares me, I never know when it is going to hit, and my tummy never really feels right anymore...but I am not a complainer...it's tough stuff huh? Now I have a dear friend of 20 years here in town just diagnosed with it in the last 6 months...she told me about this group. Well, God bless you all...I plan on beating this thing...Thanks for listening! Lin Hi, I have a daughter that had pancreatitis out of no where too. She is 20 years old . She had just been diagnosed for the first time in June of 2004 and Feb. 2005 she had her pancreas removed and auto islet cell transplant. and she is doing great. I don't know how anyone goes through this horrible disease for as long as some of them has had to. Hope you keep doing well and the pain stays away. deedee --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Read only the mail you want - Yahoo! Mail SpamGuard.
