getting started, maybe?

I just wanted some feedback on this.

I am getting ready to start on the SCD. Have the book. Waiting for

the yogurt maker- I couldn't find one locally and had to order one.

For the past week or so, I've been sort of sliding-in to the diet.

Not 100% but just sort of getting used to the idea, no grains or

sugar, chicken and hamburger, cooked veggies. Thinking that once the

yogurt maker showed up, I'd be good to go, but at least for now I can

let my body prepare, LOL.

Well then the past 24 hours I've had some sort of flu bug- it's going

around- I feel better today. But last night I spent most of the

night on the toilet. I would think this might be the beginnings of

die-off except that both kids and DH had the same thing, along with

several co-workers. I don't have much of an appetite today but I do

feel better and have been trying to replace fluids via water and

grape juice.

I am wondering if this is my " sign " to go ahead and start the SCD

now? My system got pretty cleaned out last night, trust me, and I'm

having to be careful what I eat anyway. So far today I've had a

cheese omelet, juice and water, a banana, and some yogurt. (it's not

the right yogurt, it's the Dannon I'd bought as a starter) I haven't

checked my meds for illegals, I have a multi-vitamin that's okay, but

still on Asacol and 2 1/2 mg of Pred. I'm thinking chicken and

carrots for dinner. Like I said, right now I don't have much of an

appetite anyway.

Do you think it would be okay to start the diet when I'm not running

at 100%, or should I wait? I mean I realize alot of people are

pretty sick when they start the SCD, because that's why they're

starting it in the first place. I just don't know if it's a good

idea to put my system into de-tox when I might still be fighting off

the flu. Gosh, does that even make any sense? Or if this is a great

opportunity to replace all the stuff I got rid of last night, with

just the good stuff. Help!

When I have the flu I do the intro to help me clean everything out

quicker.

Since you aren't feeling up to eating much you could use this

opportunity to start the diet. If you feel a lot of die off you can

try some epsom salt baths and/or activated charcoal to get rid of die

toxins. bottom of page:
