Guest guest
I have my new ice cream maker. I have my recipe and I'm ready to go. But after reading the directions I just realized that I have to freeze my container prior to using. uugghh... So how long? The directions says there's liquid in the sides that will no longer be liquid but I didn't hear any liquid. Also--the ice cream maker says that the mixture goes into the maker, you plug it in and let it work for 20-40 min & then it's ready. Is this correct? I thought you had to put your icecream mixure back into the freezer? Thanks for you help!

Guest guest
Usually, you have to freeze the ice cream bowl for a minimum of four hours. It's a really good idea to keep it in the freezer at all times, so it is always ready to go at a moment's notice. Yes, you can eat the ice cream as soon as it is done churning if you want. It really depends on if you like it that soft. I personally do. Obviously, you would have to freeze anything that you don't eat right away. The best thing to do is transfer the ice cream from the ice cream maker bowl to some osrt of other freezer safe container with a lid. Store it in the freezer that way. It will get really hard if you do store it, so you'll want to let it sit out on the counter for at least 15 minutes to soften up for scooping and eating. The other thing about transferring it to a different storage container is that you can then wash the ice cream maker bowl right away, and then stick it right back in the freezer to be ready the next time. Does all of this make sense? Meleah Ice Cream making help I have my new ice cream maker. I have my recipe and I'm ready to go.
