Guest guest
Okay, I have been on this diet for two weeks and not feeling at all better. I am still not going to the bathroom regularly (I have a BM once a week). I am eating cooked spinach, carrots, green beans and zucchini. I am also eating a lot of applesauce. I add the applesauce because I thought it would be good to get fiber from a fruit also. I am also eating meat and chicken soup, lobster and crab. I eat a lot of cooked veggies and applesauce in each meal. Even when I'm not hungry I force myself to eat so that I can have fiber in my diet. I don't know if I'm causing more damage by forcing myself to eat. I fear that if I don't eat, I'll never have a BM. I feel horrible everyday. I feel like I have to go to the bathroom all the time but I can't. I really don't think this diet is working for me and I don't know if I should continue this diet. Oh and also whenever I start to take something natural to help me have a BM, My stomach gets worse and nothing happens.Sorry I know, I'm going on and on but I'm writing everything that is running through my head and I'm so confused. And one more thing how do I know if there is something more serious then just IBS- dominant C? I have tried everything that people have told me to try on helping me to have a BM but nothing is working. Any help is appreciated? Thank you for reading this long message. a

I went almost a week without a BM too. Being that constipated WILL make you feel like S*&t. Not to make light of it but I was preparing for a coffee enema (which sometimes make me feel great) and then lo and behold... It was weird how the timing worked. Then I felt better for awhile. It's rough in the beginning - your body is going through so many changes. Don't give up yet. Just give yourself an enema if you have to. They always work. Guest guest
Hi, First, I would not force myself to eat if not hungry. But most of my overeating was me trying to force a BM to happen, it was unconscious on my part until about a year ago. -I find that a small glass of water with two teaspoons apple cider vinegar causes a BM. -Using a small step stool in the bathroom to put my feet up a little higher really helps too. This helps with the muscles so they can relax and allow the BM to happen. -Stewed prunes really work or the prune juice does too. -I have to eat about 25 to 30 grams of fiber a day to have a movement. I track my fiber on Sparkspeople, it is a free website to track nutrional information. -Getting up early, and just sitting on the toilet quietly reading for about 10 minutes really helps. Consciously thinking about moving the waste out, not straining-that's bad for you, but thinking about your middle and striving to communicate with the muscles. Crazy I know... -Pilates has helped me tremendously. Due to the pain and discomfort I had mentally disconnected with my abdomen. Doing exercises for the core of the body is therapy for me and my body. Hope you get to feeling better soon. Guest guest
Applesauce is constipating so I would stop that ASAP. Try pearsauce and cooked pears instead (this might be OK for you). The stewed prunes is a good idea too. My son gets severely constipated and his GI said absolutely no fiber, that the fiber can make you even more constipated for some people so try no fiber at all for a week. The no fiber makes a big difference for him. > > Okay, I have been on this diet for two weeks and not feeling at all > better. Guest guest
Thank you for your help. I'm going to stay on the diet and be patient. It's just so hard but I want to feel better. > > > I fear that if I don't eat, I'll > > never have a BM. I feel horrible everyday. Guest guest
HI, Try taking the applesauce out. It can cause constipation. Also, try butternut squash instead of carrots. If you eat nuts, eat very little...walnuts & pecans seem to cause the least problems. Do you eat the 24 hr. yogurt? That may help. The diet will help you heal. Also, if you stay on it long enough you will discover the foods that give you problems. Belle eguadron684 wrote: Okay, I have been on this diet for two weeks and not feeling at all better. Did you try the constipation protocol from http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/ ? You can find it under the " Knowledge Base " under " Constipation " ; also read " Constipation continued " . You may want to skip ahead on the protocol and try both 1. the prune NECTAR and orange juice combo and 2. the glycerin suppository. Guest guest
I have tried Aloe vera, Magnesium Cirate, Herbal teas that help for digestion, and another herbal tea prescribed by my apunichartist (sp?), and prunes. They all make it worse and bloated.
