Guest guest
I have my ice cream in the maker & at about 35 min it cut off on it's own. The directions to the maker says 20 - 40 min. It also says it has an auto shut off if the motor gets too warm. It certainly doesn't feel warm & my mix is still very liquid. It's almost the consistency of a slushy. So I've placed it all in the freezer (maker directions say you can do this up to 30 min). I assume if this freezes and turns out OK it will not be the same texture. What happened?? Guest guest
I would definitely call the manufacturer to tell them what happened. See what they say. Did you drip the yogurt before putting in the ice cream maker? Meleah Ice Cream help I have my ice cream in the maker & at about 35 min it cut off on it's own. Guest guest
Yeah it was nice & thick yogurt (1 1/2 cps) but is was the recipe you gave me that also called for 2 cps of almond milk. Could that be why it's so thin? I just got it out of the freezer (after 35 min) and it's still thin. I'll call the manf to see why it shut off. > > I would definitely call the manufacturer to tell them what happened. See what they say. Guest guest
OK. I just looked at that recipe. It has been so long since I made it that I don't even remember if I altered it at all. I would try the one that I forwarded you that Jill posted for me a while back. I still wonder if it is the ice cream maker that is the problem just because of regular ice cream recipes. I made regular vanilla today. For example, the recipe called for whole milk, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla. It was completely liquid when it went it, but it came out ice cream. The almond milk shouldn't make it stay runny. Do you want to borrow my ice cream maker tomorrow just to see if it was the Rival that was the problem or the recipe? I can bring it to Trinity when we come for the end of year program for iel's class. Let me know. Guest guest
Was the yogurt cold when you started? Was 3.5 cups too much for your ice cream maker. If it is too great a volume it will take a lot longer to freeze.
