Kara How about just a teeny weeny dab of " superglue " around the edge of the patch? Of course you then have to find a new place for the next patch. Guest guest
Kara, complain to Medi-cal that the pharmacy is refusing to fill the prescription and if they'd be willing to send you to another pharmacy since the one they want you to go to is refusing to fill it. And tell Medic-cal that the geeneric form of the duregesic patches are defective while you are talking to them too. Also, I think there is a state or federal group that regulates pharmacies, but I don't know what their name is. Can anyone help me with that one? I'd also call the corporate office of Walgreens (I believe it is a Walgreens pharmacy we're talking about?) and tell them that one of their pharmacies is refusing to fill the prescription. Also complain to the stores's manager too. I'm glad that at least the doctor is doing her job by allowing you an increase in medication, it's one less hassle that you have to deal with. Also, if Medic-cal won't cover the Duregisic patches, maybe some other group/organization will do it. I know that there are a number of organizations that will do that type of stuff. Guest guest
Kara, Ask your doctor to check off the box on the prescription pad when writing the script that forbids the pharmacy from filling the prescription with the generic alternative. They then have to fill the prescription with the exact drug that the doctor prescribes. I don't know the laws in Calif but that could be one way to get around the pharmacy filling with the cheap generic patches. The doctor needs to use the phrase DAW or check the box on the script that says DAW (dispense as written). Hope this might be a possible solution.
