I'm just wondering. Why is applesauce constipating? Is it that way for most

people?

Applesauce is constipating so I would stop that ASAP. Try pearsauce

and cooked pears instead (this might be OK for you). The stewed

prunes is a good idea too. My son gets severely constipated and his

GI said absolutely no fiber, that the fiber can make you even more

constipated for some people so try no fiber at all for a week. The

no fiber makes a big difference for him.

Actually applesauce has helped me. i have been eating applesauce

everyday. That is all I eat and I have gone to the bathroom three

times in the past four days and for me that is good. But my stomach

still hurts a lot and is still bloated. Whatever I can't get

everything I want.

This shows that everybody is different and the way to see if a certain food will

help or not is by trying it.

Hi,

I don't know what causes it to be constipating in alot of people, but I know

that is why conventional doctors say to eat the BRAT (bananas, rice, apples,

toast-bland) diet when you have the diarreha due to stomach flu. These (except

for toast) can be binding.

Applesauce has both soluble and insoluble fibre and its' pectin will

help bulk up stools and keep the bowels regular- so it works for both

diarrhea and constipation.
