Hi Karin,

Thank you for your post about biliary disease and pancreatitis.

My pancreatitis started as idiopathic chronic and I have never had an

attack of acute pancreatitis . The symptoms started with

malabsorption rather than severe pancreatic pain.

I have gall stones, the radiologist described my gall bladder as

being 'full of rubbish!'

The pancreatologist however advised that removal of the gall bladder

was not indicated as it doesn't cause chronic pancreatitis, (except

via recurrent acute attacks. I would be very grateful for

information on this topic - has anyone started with chronic

pancreatitis due to gall stones, without having acute episodes first?

I hope everyone is feeling OK,

Best Wishes to you all,

Tony (UK)
