Guest guest
Hello everyone. I hope it is ok to post a few questions for you. It has been a long 5 months and I just hope someone can shine some light on what is going on. And I am sorry it is so long. In mid January I got very sick with what I thought was the flu. I had cramping, fever and aches. About 3 days after that the cramping got real bad. I went to the Doc and he drew blood and took an X-ray. He said it was constipation and to take a laxitive. That night I began having VERY bloody D. The doc called and said my blood work came in and I had pancreatitis. My lipase was around 600. After being treated for it in the hospital for 3 days I was released. I have since been DX'd as having Crohn's. My question is has anyone heard of Crohn's causing pancreatitis? I had no " pancreas " pain with my pancreatitis. The only thing that led him to say I have it is a high lipase and amylase level. I have also had an EGD and it found alot of large folds in my deuadnum (spelled wrong) I just don't understand what is going on. During the Crohn's flare I lost 35 pounds in 30 days, but that weight loss was from the Crohn's. Is it possible to have a high lipase level and not have " pancreatitis " ? Thank you to everyone for listening. I hope you all are doing well.
