Guest guest
Hello all Thank you for letting me join this group. I have a 5 year old son with cerebral palsy and his digestion has always been a big problem. He has also problems with reflux. Since he was born we have tried several things to help his digestion, but with no success. The last months we have been giving him a diet that contains a lot of vegetables and stopped combining starch and proteins. So for every meal he got protein + vegetables or starch with vegetables (mostly carrots, broccoli and spinach). The protein source was chicken and turkey. Tried once to add fish, but he then got terrible stomach ache. I observed that his reflux was getting worse when we gave him a starch meal (ex rice). He has a awful skinrash on his cheeks (first very red, then getting very dry). His physician suggested hydrocortisone cream for the rash, but it never helped. I think the rash is a reaction to his food. I also wonder if the rash could be caused by too much A-vitamin (both broccoli and carrot contains a lot of vitamin A). I read about the SCD diet and have started to give her zuchinni, spinach and chicken. I don`t want to give him eggs at the moment, since his sister is very allergic to this. My concern is that he might not tolerate chicken. So is it possible to just give him zuchinni and spinach for a couple of days ? Is it possible to avoid proteins for a day or two ?. I`m feeling a little desperate at the moment, cause it seems like he isn`t tolerating anything. Can anybody give me some advice? Guest guest
Hi Siri, Your son might be going through temporary initial symptoms. http://www.pecanbread.com/new/temporarysymptoms.html It is possible to avoid proteins for a day or two. However, do not let this happen for too long.Try eggs instead even if the sister has an allergy your son might not have one.
